Spin Your Way Into Christmas Morning

Fifty/50 Holds 'The Manischewitz Incident'

First an education for our non-Jewish readers, or for the uninitiated. A dreidel is a four-sided spinning top used in a gambling game during Hanukkah.

Over the years, some enterprising Jewish youth have turned the classic game into a drinking game. You know, if you spin a Gimel, you add a shot to your glass, a Shin, you add a shot to everyone else's glass and so on. Stay with us now.

Wicker Park hot spot Fifty/50(2047 W Division) has come up with a holiday-themed drink that will make your head spin faster than the dreidel. "The Manischewitz Incident" is a combination of potato-based vodka and Goldschlager.

It will be the featured drink at the restaurant's Hanukkah party on Christmas Eve, also titled The Manischewitz Incident. The party, from 8 - 11 p.m., offers a $30 all-you-can-drink package, with $1 Manischewitz by the glass and $5 O-bombs and Jameson shots. After 11 p.m., the bar will offer a Menorah of beer and shots -- buy 8 shots or beers and get the 9th (the Shamash) for free.

You may not know exactly what all the means, but the bottom line is, there's a pretty good chance you'll wake up on Christmas morning with a hangover.

Just try to spin your way into a cab after you're done with that dreidel.
