Chicago's Socialites Shopping For “Housewives” Roles

Several women interested in joining cast of local "Real Houseswives" show

It's certainly been one of the most interesting parlor games in certain circles around the city after word got out last week that Towers Productions is seeking Chicago women to shoot a local version of the reality show, "Real Housewives ...." The question is, who amongst the city's social set would be a good fit for the show?"

Now the contestants are starting to come forward.

Socialite, blogger and former Playboy Playmate, Candace Jordan, posted an item on the NBC Chicago Street Team blog expressing her interest, and told us Thursday that not only has she been contacted by the show's producers, she was the first person they called, due to the high volume of emails they received.

"I loved the housewives of New York and even a fellow playmate, Jeana Tomasino, appeared on the housewives of Orange County so I figured what the heck?" Jordan said in her blog posting. "I think I'm one of their girls!"

According to the Sun-Times' Bill Zwecker, Jordan isn't the only Chicago housewife interested in a role. Others include:

  • Shelley MacArthur Farley, an actress, professional singer and former model who's married to Fruit of the Loom chairman Bill Farley.
  • Philanthropist Sugar Rautbord, who runs her own public relations company.
  • Former soap opera and sitcom actress Whitney Lasky, 46, who is the mother of two boys.
  • Elizabeth Berger, 41, a divorced mother of two who runs the public relations firm Elizabeth Berger Associates.

The production team is seeking "a dynamic group of ladies leading extraordinary lives. ... modern housewives who juggle busy lives and look great doing it! No wallflowers, please."

If the initial crop of interested contestants is any indication, they shouldn't have any problems finding what they're looking for.
