A cold weather is bringing a reminder that it's still March in Chicago.
Temperatures that had hovered in the mid-60s earlier Friday afternoon are now in the low 40s. They'll bottom out at around midnight, but along with the cold is a bit of precipitation.
Current forecasts show the front stalling over the city overnight, meaning areas northwest of the city may see more snow accumulation with the south and east having snow/rain mixes.
Saturday looks to be blustery and cold. How's that for the first day of Spring?
Generally, snow totals will range in the one- to three-inch category, but due to the ground being warm, much of it likely won't stick.
Saturday's highs will likely be like Friday's low: in the upper 30s.
For Sunday, drizzle and flurries remain in the forecast, but temperatures will rise and things will dry out.
And then wouldn't you know it, the next work week looks to be mostly sunny with temperatures climbing throughout the week.
