Cold front brings storms as it passes through.

Showers and thunderstorms -- some severe -- are just to the west and inching closer to Chicago.

A tornado watch has been issued for all the counties in the NBC Chicago viewing area and several counties in Wisconsin.

A watch means that conditions are favorable for the development or tornadoes.

Thunderstorms are also likely for Saturday night and there is a possibility they may linger into early Sunday morning.
