Mother Nature Dishes Mix of Weather

Dense Fog Advisory Expires

The dense fog advisory issued yesterday has expired, but cooler temperatures remain.

On Friday, Mother Nature gave the Chicago area a wild mix of rain, lightning and fog.

While an erie fog blanketed the downtown areas, torrential rain pounded the pavement in Kankakee  County, which was under a severe thunderstorm watch for a time.

Downed power lines closed a six-mile stretch of Interstate 57 was shut down in Kankakee County.

A dense fog advisory was issued on Friday, but expired at 9 a.m. Saturday.

Scattered showers and rain are expected to continue Saturday, but Sunday looks to be dry.
