Sunshine, Warmth Replace Wind, Rain

Sunshine and bearable temperatures replace a week of rain, wind and cold

Welcome to a more pleasant Fall, Chicago.

Sunshine and bearable temperatures replace a week of rain, wind and cold. After a chilly Monday morning, temperatures climb as high as 70 in the afternoon with abundant sun and clear skies.

NBCChicago meteorologist Andy Avalos advises a coat Monday night, as temps drop to the upper 50s in Chicago and lower 40s in the Fox Valley. And though Tuesday begins with a chilly morning, you won't need that coat by the afternoon thanks to highs topping out between 71 and 75.

More good news: Expect more of the same mild weather into the weekend. Continued sun and highs in the mid-70s warm things up to start the weekend.

By Friday, temperatures are expected to reach upper 70s. After last week's record rainfall, we'll take it.
