It might be spring but winter weather isn't quite ready to leave Chicago.
Saturday temps marked the start of a cold front expected to bring below-average temperatures to the Chicago area over the next few days, and with the colder temps comes the chance for snow.
A potential band of lake effect snow could produce some flurries near the lakefront in Chicago and Northwest Indiana.
Models predict less than an inch of snow may fall Saturday evening and overnight Sunday.
Saturday’s high was forecast to be in the upper 30s, but temps will drop significantly with overnight lows dipping near 20 degrees. Daytime temps Sunday won’t recover much as highs are forecast to reach only into the upper 20s.
Things will stay chilly Monday as another snow system moves into the Chicago area, producing an estimated inch or two of snow by Tuesday evening.
The snowfall could bring Chicago up a notch in the record books.

Currently, the city’s 79.9 inches of snow is just 2.4 inches away from the second snowiest seasonal record of 82.3 inches recorded in 1977-78.
The snowiest season on record, with a whopping 89.7 inches, was the season of 1978-79.
