More Snow, Temperature Dip Coming to Chicago Area

More snow is heading to the Chicago area Sunday afternoon and throughout the night, but it will clear up just in time for the morning commute on Monday.

Only about 1 to 2 inches are expected to fall in the Chicago area beginning around 4 p.m. The system will start out south and move north, with areas south of Chicago receiving the most snow.

The snow will clear up in time for the Monday morning commute, but lake effect snow is likely to affect areas near Lake Michigan in the afternoon.

Sunday will finally see near average temperatures with a high of 30 degrees by the afternoon when the snow begins to move in.

Temperatures will take another dip early in the week, with a high of 21 on Monday and highs in the teens on Tuesday and Wednesday. But by the end of the week, they will go back up to the high 20s and low 30s for a warmer weekend.
