Chicago residents may not be shocked to learn that the forecast for St. Patrick's Day weekend includes snow.
But one of the two parades going off this weekend has a little better luck when it comes to weather.
Saturday's downtown St. Patrick's Day parade and it's companion river dyeing should draw crisp but cool conditions. The forecast on Saturday calls for a high of 39 degrees.
Snow is expected to start falling on Saturday around 4 p.m. Conservative forecasts predict close to an inch over night.
After the snow, cold moves in. Sunday's high will register in the mid-20s, so South Side Irish revelers will be decidedly chillier than Saturday's crowds.
To make matters worse, the National Weather Service classifies Sunday as "blustery" meaning wind speeds up to 25 miles per hour with gusts as high as 35 degrees.
Bundle up, but make sure your blankets are green.
