More Rain Predicted to Fall on Soggy Chicagoland

It's likely the last thing anyone just south or southwest of Chicago wants to hear, but there's another threat of rain in the overnight hours into Saturday.

Any rain that falls will be with a flood warning issued by the National Weather Service for much of the NBC Chicago viewing area.

The storms comes ahead of a dry, warm afternoon and rainy evening. Though temperatures won't  match this week's mid-90s, southern suburbs will see low 80s.

On Wednesday, strong storms dumped 3 and 1/2 inches of rain on suburban Orland Park, keeping some roads closed into Friday.

The Red Cross opened a shelter at Eisenhower High School, 12700 Sacramento Ave. in Blue Island, Thursday those affected by the flooding.

Fewer roads are closed Friday, but commuters are warned to watch out for standing water.

In Orland Park, Will Cook Road is closed at 15100 and 15500, along with Southwest Highway at 131st and 135th, and 143rd at Creek Crossing.
