Evanston Declares Snow Emergency, Putting Extra Parking Restrictions in Place

Just after Evanston issued a parking ban in the northern Chicago suburb over the weekend, the city has declared a “snow emergency” for Monday and Tuesday, which will mean extra parking restrictions for residents.

The snow emergency means no parking is allowed between 8 a.m. and 6 p.m. on the even numbered side of the street on even numbered days, or Monday, and no parking will be allowed on the odd numbered side of the street on odd numbered days, or Tuesday.

The snow emergency parking restrictions are in addition to the snow route parking ban issued for Sunday beginning at 11 p.m. The snow ban route parking ban remains in effect until 6 a.m. Monday.

City officials warn that emergency sirens will sound at 7:15 a.m. and 12:15 p.m. on snow emergency days.
