More than 20,000 Commonwealth Edison customers in the Aurora area were without power on the coldest day in decades.

A substation a Ogden Avenue failed early Monday, leading to the outages, a Com Ed spokesman said.

Crews were working on the problems and said all power should be returned by 3 p.m.

Customers experiencing a loss of service should text the word OUT to 26633 to report outages.
