Beautiful weather is on the way for those staying in town for the long Labor Day holiday weekend.
After weeks of muggy air, heavy rain, and high humidity, Friday began pleasantly cool and comfortable across the Chicago area. Plenty of sunshine, clear skies and an onshore breeze pair with afternoon highs in low to mid 70s before dipping into the low 60s overnight.

A gradual warming trend begins Saturday that continues into the days ahead. Mostly sunny and mild conditions are expected with low humidity as temperatures inch higher into the upper 70s.
Sunday the warming trend continues, with highs reaching the low 80s and becoming slightly more humid.
The heat and humidity increase again Monday, but it will still be a nice Labor Day. Sunshine mixes with a little more cloud cover and highs climb to the mid 80s.
It will be even warmer looking ahead to Tuesday, rising to the upper 80s but feeling much hotter with the humidity.
