Bus Tracker Comes to You

20 more buses added to bus tracker

Beginning next week, the Chicago Transit Authority's Bus Tracker will be able to send out e-mails to subscribers alerting them of upcoming buses.

The subscriptions can be route and time-specific, the CTA said, and will provide estimated times for the next buses arriving at a customer’s preferred bus stop.  Information can be sent to both a customer’s e-mail address and mobile device as a text message.

To accommodate varying schedules, e-mail subscriptions can be created for various bus routes, bus stops and directions of travel. In addition, the alerts also can be customized to be sent within a designated timeframe, at intervals from five to 30 minutes, and on any day of the week.

"Bus Tracker has proved to be a valuable everyday tool for customers with computers or Web-enabled mobile devices," said President Richard L. Rodriguez. "With this latest feature, the benefits of Bus Tracker will be accessible to a greater number of customers – further improving their travel experience on the CTA."
