Three women were hospitalized Monday morning when the car they were in slammed into a concrete pillar of a viaduct in Chicago's South Shore neighborhood.
The single-vehicle crash happened at about 2:30 a.m. in the 7500 block of South Chicago Avenue. Officials said the car was traveling southeast when it crashed into the pillar.
One woman, a 26-year-old, appeared lifeless as she was transported to an awaiting ambulance on a stretcher. She was taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital.
Two other women were taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn. A woman who identified herself as a cousin to the women said they were in stable condition as of 6 a.m.
