Overturned Semi Slows Traffic on Tri-State Tollway

A tractor-trailer rolled on its side on the Tri-State Tollway near the O’Hare Oasis, snarling traffic during Monday’s morning commute.

The vehicle overturned in the northbound lanes of the tollway near Grand Avenue, about two and half miles south of the oasis, about 6:45 a.m., according to Illinois State Police Master Sergeant Carlita Joe.

One northbound lane had been reopened to traffic as of 7:40 a.m. No injuries have been reported.

Joe said the plastic beads the tractor-trailer was carrying spilled onto the roadway. State troopers and the Chicago Fire Department were on the scene.
