All Metra trains on the Milwaukee District / North Line were temporarily halted Thursday evening after a person was struck by a freight train in north suburban Lake Forest, according to Metra officials.
The person was struck by a Canadian Pacific freight train about shortly before 8 p.m. at the Lake Forest station, said Metra spokesman Michael Gillis.
All inbound and outbound trains on the Milwaukee District / North Line were on the move again about 9:30 p.m., operating between 30 and 70 minutes behind schedule, according to Metra.
The victim's name or age was not released as of 6 a.m. Friday.
