Three Injured in Shooting at Red Line Station

The shooting did not affect train service, said CTA spokeswoman Ibis Antongiorgi

A man and a woman were both shot and critically injured Wednesday night at the Chicago Transit Authority's 95th Street Red Line station on the city's South Side.

A man pulled out a gun during an argument and fired shots about 10:45 p.m. on the mezzanine level of the station, at 14 W. 95th St., said police News Affairs Officer Amina Greer.

The woman, 41, was shot in the knee and abdomen and a 25-year-old man was shot in the chest, Greer said. They were both taken in critical condition to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn.

A second man, 24, was injured by shattered glass, Greer said. He was taken to Little Company of Mary Hospital and Health Care Centers in Evergreen Park, where his condition had stabilized.

It was not known whether the two men knew the shooter, Greer said.

The shooting did not affect train service, said CTA spokeswoman Ibis Antongiorgi.
