UPDATE: Man Charged in Connection With Hit-And-Run
Police on Thursday afternoon were interviewing a man who they believe was the driver of a truck that struck and killed a man visiting from India in Tinley Park.
Rajendakumar Shar, 61, died at about 10 p.m. at Palos Community Hospital after being struck about an hour earlier while walking across the intersection of 159th Street and 80th Avenue.
The driver of the pickup truck did not stop but later turned himself in, Tinley Park Police Cmdr. Pat McCain said.
Shah was visiting family who live in the 16100 block of Kensington Avenue, officials said.
