Crash Knocks Over Beer Truck on Eisenhower Expressway

All lanes reopened by 5 a.m.

All lanes of Interstate 290 west of Chicago were back open at about 5 a.m. after an hours-long closure due a crash that left one person injured and a beer truck on its side.

The crash between a tractor trailer and a passenger vehicle occurred at about 2:30 a.m. in the inbound lanes of the Eisenhower Expressway near Harlem Avenue, according to Illinois State Police.

An occupant of the passenger vehicle was taken to Loyola University Medical Center in Maywood with what were described by police as minor injuries.

The tractor trailer was rolled onto its side and stretched across all four lanes of the expressway after the crash.

The cause of the crash was not immediately known.
