One person is dead after a crash involving a semi-truck and a car sent the semi slamming into a south suburban home Wednesday afternoon.
The crash was reported near 217th Street and Peterson in Sauk Village.
Illinois State Police said the truck was involved in a crash with a sedan, killing the 28-year-old driver of the sedan. The crash sent the truck off the roadway and into the back end of a vacant residence, authorities said.
Video from the scene showed a small car wrapped around a tree next to a semi that had collided into part of a home close to northbound IL-394 and Sauk Trail Road.
The 68-year-old driver of the semi declined medical attention.
Northbound 394 was shut down north of Sauk Trail Road as police investigated.
