Paulina is Back on the Brown Line

This sculpture adorns the inside of the new Paulina stop. We think it looks like the shavings from sharpening a really big pencil.

Construction is completed on the revamped Paulina Brown Line station, and it is up and running again.

Mayor Daley presided over a Thursday morning ceremony officially reopening the stop, which had been closed for a year. The station actually reopened on April 3.

The new station at 3410 North Lincoln Ave. is across Paulina from the old station. It has two elevators to make it accessible for people with disabilities.

The CTA said it has completed work on 15 of 18 stations on the Brown Line, with only Wellington still closed. That station is slated to reopen by the end of the summer. Belmont and Fullerton are still under construction, but they remain up and running.
