A Chicago man died Thursday night after a serious accident on the Kennedy Expressway.

The man's car cut across five lanes of traffic and bounced off a wall before hitting a light pole, according to the Chicago Tribune.

Henryk Kuzdzal, 59, of the 3800 block of West 59th Place, was traveling inbound in the far right lane and ended up on the inner wall south of Fullerton Avenue, police said.

After being taken to Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center, Kuzdzal was pronounced dead at 8:10 p.m., according to authorities.

No one else was injured in the crash.
