Man Arrested For Carrying Loaded Gun at O'Hare

Christopher Baldridge told police he brought along the gun for protection during his first visit to Chicago

Police arrested a 44-year old Oklahoma man at O’Hare International Airport Tuesday for carrying a loaded handgun in his bag.

Airport officials say the gun was found in Christopher Baldridge’s carry-on backpack when he went through the security line.

Baldridge was charged with a felony and boarding an aircraft with a weapon. He appeared in bond court Tuesday.

The Chicago Tribune cites a published report saying Baldridge told authorities it was his first visit to Chicago and that he brought along the gun for protection.
