Illinois Trooper Hurt In 5-Car Wheaton Crash

Trooper suffered non-life threatening injuries in the crash, officials said

An Illinois State Police trooper was among several injured Thursday morning in a five-car crash in west suburban Wheaton. 

The crash occurred around 7:30 a.m. at Gary Road and Geneva Avenue. Sky 5 video shows the top of the police trooper's squad car partially ripped off and driver's side doors off two other vehicles.

The trooper suffered non-life threatening injuries in the crash, officials said.

At least two other people were taken to local hospitals, also with non-life threatening injuries.

It's not clear what led to the accident.
