Description of Hit-and-Run Driver Released

Chicago Police are searching for a mini-van driver after a deadly hit-and-run Tuesday night in the Gresham neighborhood.

Aaliyah Kalimullahdunn, 15, was struck crossing the street around 9:15 p.m. at 80th and Ashland. Her family and friends described her as an outgoing, generous girl.

Late Wednesday, officials a better description of the driver: a black man between 25 and 30 years old with a heavy build and wearing a red Pele Pele shirt or coat and dark colored jeans.

His passenger in the light-colored minivan was a black woman, also between 25 and 30 years old. She was heavy set and wearing a black leather jacket, white shirt and gray jogging pants, police said in an community alert.
 
Police said the driver got out of the car, looked at the girl lying in the street, then got back in the vehicle and sped away.

Kalimullahdunn was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center where she was pronounced dead. An autopsy on Wednesday ruled Kalimullahdunn’s death an accident.

Anyone who can help identify the driver is asked to call police.
