Burglaries in Metra Lot Prompts Talk of Cameras

A series of car burglaries at a new southwest suburban Metra parking lot has local officials looking into installing surveillance cameras there.
At an Oak Forest City Council committee meeting Tuesday night, police outlined a plan to install cameras at the lot and connect them to a city digital network. The city has already solicited several bids for the proposed project, and the cost would be about $70,000.
