Bicyclist Struck By CTA Brown Line Train

The person was taken to an area hospital in fair-to-serious condition

A portion of the CTA Brown Line was closed overnight after a train struck a person riding a bicycle.

The bicyclist was hit around 10:30 p.m. near the Kedzie station in Chicago's Albany Park neighborhood, according to CTA officials, and taken to Swedish Covenant Hospital in fair-to-serious condition.

CTA spokesman Brian Steele told the Chicago Sun-Times the bicyclist may have gone around the lowered gates when the collision occurred.

The bicyclist was recovering Tuesday morning. Train service resumed by 11 p.m.
