At Least 10 People Hurt in South Shore Bus Crash

At least ten people were injured in a CTA bus crash Wednesday afternoon in the South Shore neighborhood.

The eastbound No. 71 bus was stopped at 71st and Paxton when it was rear-ended by a car, according to CTA spokeswoman Catherine Hosinski.

She said the driver of the car and 12 bus passengers suffered minor injuries.

According to Fire Media Affairs, 10 people were taken to hospitals with non-life-threatening injuries. Two were taken to Holy Cross, two to Little Company of Mary, two to Jackson Park, two to Saint Bernard’s, and two to Trinity.

Eastbound No. 71 buses were temporarily rerouted in the area after the crash, but had resumed normal service as of 2:30 p.m.
