Two people were killed Thursday morning when an SUV flipped over and burst into flames in west suburban Westmont, police confirmed.

The crash happened around 3 a.m. at the intersection of Fairview Avenue and 59th Street. It's not clear what caused the crash and police said the investigation was ongoing.

Police said the vehicle rolled over onto the street then caught fire on the front lawn of a residence.

The victims' identities are not yet known.
