We all want what we can’t have in life.

And previously, that applied to the luxury hard-to-find perfume brand, Maison Francis Kurkdjian.
But now the jig is up, and we don’t have to special order this sweet-smelling stuff from France anymore.
Test them out for yourself at Neiman Marcus. The Michigan Ave. store has just begun carrying the signature line, and it's the only place you'll find it in Chicago.
Francis Kurkdjian’s start in the perfume biz started small, with a few creations for some private clientele. But it quickly expanded into artistic collaborations in Paris, Versailles and New York. Now, he umbrellas his business under the name Maison Francis Kurkdjian, and the rest is perfume history.
There are several scents to choose from, and the line is chalk full of products too, from eau de toilettes to scented candles, European bubble baths and interior fragrances.
The scent that really made us swoon was Lumiere Noire; a concoction based on the concept of two opposing powers (light and black) that unite to create mystery. It comes in perfume, cologne, a candle and is a striking blend of spiced rose and patchouli.
You also may be tempted by his bespoke perfumes and special orders for custom-created perfumes, candles and the lot, but be prepared to slap down the Benjamins for that. Smelling like no one else in the world doesn’t come cheap.
