Chicago Hotel Unveils Ron Santo Tribute Suite

Portion of the suite's revenue will go to diabetes organization

The Westin Michigan Avenue Hotel unveiled a new suite honoring a famous Cub.

The Ron Santo Tribute Suite was created in memory of legendary Chicago Cubs’ third-baseman and radio broadcaster.

The room was unveiled Wednesday morning with a formal ribbon-cutting ceremony. Santo’s son, Ron Jr., participated in the ceremony, along with representatives from the JDRF, a diabetes organization that Santo supported.

The suite will be filled with memorabilia, including photographs of Santo donated by his family.

Santo had a life-long struggle with diabetes and helped raise $60 million for the non-profit organization “Ron Santo Walk to Cute Diabetes.” A portion of the revenue from the suite will be donated to JDRF.
