Chicago Chef Loses “Top Chef” Finale

Spiaggia chef Sarah Grueneberg bows out in final round of reality show

Chicago's dreams of producing another "Top Chef" fell a little short Wednesday night.

Spiaggia's executive chef Sarah Grueneberg lost out in the finale of Bravo's "Top Chef Texas."

Despite receiving plaudits from the judges, Grueneberg, who originally hails from Texas, was bested by Chef Paul Qui.

Gruneburg, 30, was vying to become the third Chicago chef to win the reality show. Stephanie Izard came out on top in 2006 and Rick Bayless won the inaugural season of "Top Chef Masters."

Five Chicago chefs competed in this season of the show.
