Sip Soup for a Cause

Custom House hosts a Soup Off cook-off

If you've been watching this season's Top Chef on Bravo, you may have seen episode six in which guests at a Christmas-themed cocktail party were able to vote for their favorite chefs' station.  If the idea of such culinary power appeals to you, you might want to get tickets to the Soup Off cook-off at Custom House on Sunday, March 1 from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Taste sample-size bowls of all sorts of savory soups from guest chefs Giuseppe Tentori of BOKA & Perennial; Bill Kim of Urban Belly; Carrie Nahabedian of Naha; Dean Zanella and several other local chefs. Proceeds from the $15 per person ticket price benefit the Greater Chicago Food Depository. Hosted by Spring Restaurant Group's executive chef Shawn McClain, this event will give guests the opportunity to place a ribbon at their favorite chefs' station.  So come on out and rock the vote, all while sipping discounted cocktail and wine specials along with the delectable soups. Purchase tickets at the door.
