New Rosebud Restaurant to Bloom Downtown

Restaurant to set up shop in old VTK space

In the carousel that is the Chicago dining scene, River North is set to lose one restaurant but is gaining another.

The 312 Dining Diva reports that a Rosebud Eats restaurant will open in the Vong's Thai Kitchen location (6 W. Hubbard St).

The Asian-themed VTK lost its lease and will close its kitchen after 10 years this week.

According to a Rosebud rep, the equipment has already been bought for the space and the new restaurant will offer meals 23 hours a day when it debuts in March.

The source also says that Rosebud owner Alex Dana is selling one of his iconic steakhouses in the city to another local major steakhouse group, 312DD reported.

Rosebud already has 11 restaurants in the Chicagoland area.
