Mas Tacos, Por Favor

Zapatista features all-you-can-eat tacos night

Get your fill of tacos during the "Muchos Tacos Mondays" promotion at South Loop Mexican restaurant Zapatista. The offer starts on Monday, Jan. 5, just when we'll all need a little post-holiday, long-winter-ahead cheer, especially to start the week.

For $13.99, you'll get executive chef Michael Wisner's all-you-care-to-eat tacos, such as roasted pork, grilled steak, chipotle chicken, tilapia and roasted vegetables, plus Mexican rice and beans. You can accompany your feast with a margarita, also on special for $5 each. (Speaking of which, Zapatista will start serving up drink specials throughout the week, including $5 mojitos on Tuesday, $5 glasses of sangria and $3 Dos Equis and Tecate beers on Wednesday, $5 caipirinhas and 25 percent off all bottles of wine on Thursdays, and $8 bloody Marys with a Coronitas beer back on Saturdays and Sundays.)

Zapatista's warm, accommodating setting, with exposed brick, colorful tiles, wrought-iron lanterns and black-and-white photographs of Emiliano Zapata (a late 19th-century Mexican revolutionary) and his contemporaries creates a welcoming atmosphere to stuff yourself silly.
