Lobster Festival Comes to a Full Boil

Shaw's annual crustacean celebration is going on now through July

You head there in January for the Crab Festival. You never miss an October Royster with the Oyster party. Now it's time to check out Shaw's Crab House for the restaurant's annual Lobster Festival, going on now through the end of July. Both the River North and Schaumburg locations will feature Maine lobster in a limited-time menu.

Shaw's Lobster Festival has a mascot -- "Rocky," the infamous langouste that scared subway workers toiling under the Chicago River way back when. However, this celebration is in honor of its East Coast cousins, also known as "spiny" or "rock" lobsters. (We prefer that moniker even though we can't get the B-52s song out of our heads now.) Indulge in "Rocky's Lobster Deal," which is a traditional lobster boil. You'll get a one-pound whole Maine lobster, corn on the cob, Red Bliss potatoes and coleslaw (plus lobster bibs galore) for $34.95 per person.

Lobster lovers will also want to try other special dishes during the event, such as lobster maki, pasta, salad, cocktail, bisque, lobster thermidor and a New England lobster roll. And you'll definitely want to get your claws on this contest: Every time you dine at either Shaw's Crab House location during Lobster Festival, you'll be entered to win a lobster dinner party for you and 14 of your nearest and dearest.
