Acclaimed local chef Rick Tramonto will host a dinner party at Osteria di Tramonto, his Italian restaurant in Wheeling, on Sunday Nov. 16 to celebrate his latest cookbook, appropriately named "Osteria." The book highlights recipes from the popular North Shore spot, which showcases simple, hearty Italian dishes like antipasti, bruschetta, crudos, braised meats, pastas and desserts.
The evening's menu includes a bruschetta appetizer, an antipasti course of two salads, a pasta dish with red wine-braised duck, stuffed leg of lamb as the entree and Italian chocolate pudding for dessert. Osteria di Tramonto's sommeliers will pair wines with each course. The dinner is $75 per person.
Chef Tramonto will be on hand to mingle and sign copies of "Osteria," which is his sixth cookbook. (Where does he find the time?) Copies of "Osteria" will be sold for $25 during the event (they're normally going for $35).
