Grand Opening: Tavernita Restaurant
Moshpix: Tavernita, one of the most buzzed-about restaurants of the year, held its grand opening Wednesday night. The Spanish-inspired restaurant is located at the corner of Erie and Lasalle, the space formerly occupied by Martini Park. Executive chef/partner Ryan Poli (center), formerly of Lincoln Park's Perennial restaurant, is the driving force behind the menu, along with the Sandoval brothers of Mercadito fame and the Tippling Brothers applying their magic to the beverage program. The restaurant is split into three sections -- the main dining area that includes a raw bar, an overflow dining area that can be used for private parties, and Barcito, which serves small bites and cocktails in a highly-energized setting.
