Frasca Pizzeria = Friend to Parents

Roscoe Village restaurant an oasis for parents and kids

There are only so many trips to the library and indoor playgrounds any sane adult can take. With temps dipping below zero, it's getting harder and harder for stay-at-home parents and their young kids to get out of the house.  We don't want anyone re-enacting a scene from ‘The Shining' here, so we thought we'd let you know about an awesome winter option offered by Frasca Pizzeria in Roscoe Village.

Every Thursday starting Jan. 8, bring the crew to Frasca between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. for food, frolicking and fun.  Frasca clears out a large room and lays down a foam floor so kids can run wild, while parents and caregivers nosh on pastas, salads and beverages ($9; kids are free, and snacks and toys can be brought from home.)  Frasca is typically closed during the day but is opening on Thursdays just for these play dates.  Also worth noting is their ''Kids Eat Free'' promotion which runs daily between 4:30 p.m. and 6 p.m., when the kids' menu (regularly $5 per item) of buttered noodles, PB&J with a side, cheese pizza, noodles with marinara, grilled cheese with a side and house salad is FREE.  The meals include a kid's drink and scoop of ice cream ($1 for gelato).  So get the fam over to Frasca.  Remember: all work and no play make Jack a dull boy.
