Calling all Catholics -- do you find it difficult to eat out on Fridays during the Lent season because of the lack of options? We're here to help. Just because Lent has its restrictions and sacrifices doesn't mean the pre-Easter season has to lack in taste. You can still eat well -- and save money at the same time -- at Duchamp, the chic, contemporary Bucktown eatery, where a $25 three-course, prix-fixe menu will be featured from 5-6:30PM on Fridays through March 27.

Duchamp chef Michael Taus' French- and Mediterrean-inspired American cuisine makes a meat-free Lent menu a painless pleasure (but don't tell Mom). You'll get to enjoy your choice of four first-course options (a citrus-roasted beet salad with Marcona almonds, French feta and mint; simple greens with grilled asparagus, lemon zest, romano cheese and balsamic vinaigrette; lobster bisque with tempura lobster and rock shrimp toast; or white pizza with royal trumpet mushrooms, taleggio, lemon zest and herb salad). For your entree, you have a choice of five intriguing selections (a sweet potato truffle risotto with brown butter vinaigrette and exotic mushrooms; a roasted roulade of salmon with pear-kohlrabi savory strudel and apple cider nage; sauteed potato ricotta gnocchi with spring vegetables and herbes de Provence nage; Taus' elevated take on fish & chips, with crispy skate wing and garlic fries; or a seared cod sandwich served with Havarti cheese, tomato remoulade and garlic fries). An assortment of desserts -- a caramelized lemon tart with strawberry-cardamom, a chocolate cupcake and an ice cream sandwich -- ends the guilt-free dining experience sweetly.
