A food festival this weekend promises to be the one time when it will be considered proper etiquette to eat dessert first.

That's because there'll be more cheesecake than you can handle at the Eli's Cheesecake Festival, the 13th year for an event dedicated to promoting all things related to the creamy dessert.

How many activities can you come up with related to cheesecake? How about cheesecake Olympics (discus?), cheesecake eating competitions, cheesecake bingo and a cheesecake hula hoop contest.

The free admission event all goes down Oct. 3-4 at Eli's Cheesecake World, the 62,000 square foot bakery, café, retail store and visitors' center.

When you've had your full of the cheesecake, check out stage plays, bands, a classic car show and cooking demonstrations.

Bring a non-perishable food item and receive a free slice of cake, although we're sure there'll be plenty of samples going around.

Visit www.cheesecakefestival.com for the full lineup of activities.
