A popular New York bar concept will soon make its way to Chicago, replacing an equally popular spot that closed its doors for good over the weekend.

According to the Metromix blog, Beauty Bar is scheduled to open sometime around Valentine's Day 2010. The new spot will take over the space formerly occupied by Sonotheque at 1444 W Chicago Ave.

The first Beauty Bar was opened in New York's East Village, and now boasts locations all over the West Coast and in Las Vegas and Austin.

Beauty Bar owner Paul Devitt is partnering with local businessmen Bruce Finkelman and Pete Toalson, who own the Empty Bottle, Metromix reports.

The original Beauty Bar got its name after the owner renovated an old beauty salon, and keeps many of those elements in its design.
