Spend your spring sipping wines here.

Enjoying wine certainly doesn't have to be a stuffy, formal affair, as evidenced by an array of amiable April events that will get you in the spring spirit of things.

A special wine dinner starring varietals from Row Eleven Wine Company will be held at Carnivale in River West this Thursday, April 2 at 7PM. Richard de los Reyes, Row Eleven president and winemaker, will lead guests through the four-course dinner prepared by Carnivale executive chef Mark Mendez. You'll get to taste wines from Row Eleven Wine Company's three brands: Row Eleven, Stratton Lummis and Civello. The dinner is $65 per person; call 312-850-5005 to make a reservation.

A spring-centric wine tasting will take place at Eno in the InterContinental Chicago, where you'll get to learn about wines from Oregon and Washington. During this session of the wine bar's ongoing Eno-Versity classes, wine manager and sommelier Michael Bottigliero (the "Windy City Wine Guy") will walk the group through varietals from the Pacific Northwest, which will be paired with cheeses and chocolate. Your new favorite patio wine awaits. The Eno-Versity class will take place from 6-7PM on Monday, April 6, and admission is $25. Call 312-321-8738 or email jennifer.bingham@ihg.com to reserve your spot.

Kicking off on Monday, April 6 with a showing of "Mr. & Mrs. Smith" is D.O.C. Wine Bar West's new "Movie Mondays" weekly event. The Lombard D.O.C. location will present a film each week on the 42-inch flatscreen TV in the private Tasting Room, which also boasts a stone fireplace, plush lounge furniture and a separate bar. Bottles of wine priced $100 and less will be offered at 50 percent off, and a $6 by-the-glass special will be chosen by wine director Tony Burger based on the monthly movie theme. April's theme, spy movies, will be accompanied by a "secret spy special."
