Star Maps 9/7

Carrie Underwood, Shania Twain, AnnaLynne McCord, more

Like Dustin Hoffman counting toothpicks, NBCChicago savant-ticiously tracks celebs. Star Maps is our weekly rundown of A-D-listers making the rounds in Chicago. Read on, judge harshly.

So this week, Shania Twain was "bitchy."

The country singer was in town as a guest judge for "American Idol" but demanded nobody -- including the official ''Idol'' folks -- photograph her. According to the Sun-Times, she even insisted the local affiliate for Fox (which airs ''American Idol'') be ''nowhere near her'' when she arrived for the auditions at the Hyatt Regency Hotel.

Not seen, her BF Frédéric Thiébaud, the 39-year-old triathlete, who happens to be a manager at Nestle. So yeah, she's obviously using him for his semi-dark.

Also in town for "Idol" were amusingly curt Simon Cowell, poor man's Wayne Brady Randy Jackson, and new gal Kara, who makes up for in charm what she lacks in Abdul-esque inebriation.

Also in town, Carrie Underwood, who played Ravinia -- the hottest venue in town for rocking to the Mendelssohn String Quartet. No really Carrie, you're a heroine to septuagenarians everywhere.

Last but not least, Michael Stagliano threw down at Manor, 90210's AnnaLynne McCord hosted the A'Gaci opening at The Palmer House, and Alex McCord of "The Real Housewives of New York City" hosted an event at "Second Time Around," a high-end vintage boutique.
