Mario Tricoci is the founder of the Tricoci University of Beauty Culture.

Mario Tricoci found himself in a hairy situation this week.

The owner of a high-end, Chicago-based salon and spa is accused of spitting on a cab driver twice on Thursday afternoon at O'Hare Airport.

The 69-year-old was charged with one count of battery, police said.

Tricoci was on the lower level of the airport when the incident allegedly happened.

A spokesperson for Mario Tricoci Hair Salon & Day Spa says the cab driver's accusation is not true.  She says Tricoci thought the cab driver was being rude, he tried to get out of the cab and that's when he and the driver exchanged words.

She says Tricoci turned his head to spit on the sidewalk but did not spit on the driver.

Tricoci is scheduled to appear in misdemeanor court on October 28th.
