Wandering the crowds of The Do-Division festival this weekend, we came across a booth for Malia Designs, a socially responsible handbag company formed to increase economic opportunities for disadvantaged women in Cambodia.  And while there are a lot of socially responsible companies selling desirable goods out there, we were really taken with these attractive handbags before we even knew that the company does such good for man- and woman-kind.

The handbags are all original designs made from high quality silks, netting and recycled materials local to Southeast Asia. The line is carried in boutiques across the country, or they can be purchased right online.  Ranging in price from $20-50, wallets, handbags, shoulder bags, clutches and unique bags made from recycled materials are some of the items for sale.

They're ideal for gift-giving, and even more perfect for treating yourself while still feeling good about it. The company donates a portion of their profits to organizations that fight human trafficking of children. Their tagline is, ''designed to carry a cause.'' Sounds pretty good to us.
