We all strive to look good on New Year’s Eve, whether we're completely dateless or happily married. It’s the beginning of a new year, and the chance to go out and get toasted. What’s not to love? We’ve created a list of our favorite ways to get ready for the big night out.

Spray Tan: We haven’t seen the sun in months, unless of course we’ve been lucky to jet off to Cabo for a weekend. Therefore, we’re all a little pasty. Amp up the glow factor with a spray tan. It’s safe, easy and can make you feel so much better in minutes. Our favorite? Ortanic custom spray tans, or Benefit Boutique’s tans.

Get your hair did: There’s no better time for a rockin’ ‘do then New Year’s Eve, when everyone is out and about. Head to Blo Dri salon in River North and let the magic hands of the blow dry experts work their magic. Bonus; you don’t have to feel pressured by your colorist or hair cut person to get addition treatments, since you’ll be going to someone different. Plus, these guys specialize in blow outs, so there’s simply no easier choice.

Get your makeup done: Avoid looking like Snooki (unless that’s really what you are going for) and head to Benefit or Mac—where you can get a classy-looking makeup job by the pros, sometimes even for free. Doll up with fake lashes and some glam makeup that you wouldn’t wear just any day of the year.

Get a brow wax: Let the pros at Exhale Spa wax you to perfection—you’ll feel like a whole new woman after a little hair removal, we swear it.

Exfoliate: Head to the spa the day before for a skin-smoothing exfoliation treatment. This is also a great way to prep the skin for that aforementioned spray tan! We like the body radiance salt scrub from the Spa at Trump.

Hydrate: For glowing skin (and a less intense hangover), drink up. The more H20 you consume before and during NYE, the better your skin will look.
