Dance Music Festival Announces Soldier Field Stage

Spring Awakening Festival scheduled for June 16-17th

Bruce Springsteen won't be the only musical act performing on hallowed Chicago sports ground this summer.

The Spring Awakening Festival has announced plans to host a portion of its June 16-17th event inside of Soldier Field.

The initial plan was to host the entire music festival at Stadium Green on the south side of the stadium, but now the main stage will be on the inside, with three outdoor stages.

Three time Grammy Award-winning artist Skrillex will perform at the festival, along with Dutch house purveyor Afrojack, a DJ set from Moby, and many other household names in the dance music genre such as Diplo and A-Trak.

Single-day and two-day passes are available at Clubtix.com, ranging from $65-$240.

After-parties starring some of the featured performers have also been announced at venues such as the House of Blues and Congress Theatre, along with a Hooters Yacht Party on Lake Michigan featuring DJs Gabriel & Dresden.

Elsewhere in the world of summer dance fests, the Wavefront Music Festival announced another round of headliners. Eric Prydz and MSTRKRFT join Duck Sauce and Erick Morillo on the bill for the June 30th and July 1st event at Montrose Beach.
