Summer weather means Chicago street fests galore, and one of the most popular ones of the season makes its return this weekend. The annual Midsommerfest is back, albeit with some new twists.
The 47th annual Andersonville beer fest kicks with an Opening Party on June 8, including a performance by '80s cover band 16 Candles and a sneak peak at what the rest of weekend will entail.
Saturday and Sunday features music from Maggie Speaks and Wedding Banned, in addition to a host of other activities -- shopping, noshing and even some Sunday morning Hatha Yoga for those who need a detox from the rest of the weekend binging.
And like all street fests, the food is not to be missed. Neighborhood mainstays Andies Restaurant, Hamburger Mary’s and First Slice Pie Café will all be on hand.
Admission price is a suggested donation of $5, which benefits the Andersonville Chamber of Commerce. Hours are Saturday and Sunday, June 9th and 10, from 11am-10pm at 5500 N. Clark Street at Foster.
